Simon Matthews

Hello!
My name is Simon Matthews and I have 9 years experience playing in bands and teaching. I have just finished studying the BMus Degree (Hons) in Popular Music Performance at the London College of Music where I studied with the some of the best guitarists in the UK including John Wheatcroft (Guitar Techniques Magazine), Jim Clark and Mike Outram (Guitarist magazine). I also have grade 8 in Electric Guitar and Grade 6 Classical Guitar.

I am offering guitar tuition from beginners to advanced levels in and around Birmingham for guitarists who feel like they need to progress in their playing. I teach contemporary guitar styles such as rock, pop, acoustic and Jazz as well as classical guitar. I can help students with music theory, technique, repertoire, improvising, sight-reading and I can also help them prepare for Rockschool, RGT and ABRSM examinations.

I provide all of my student with tailored tuition that suites them best. I also provide my students with folders and printed material to help them progress so they can keep a record of everything they are learning. I can also offer sheet music, recording facilities, backing tracks and recordings of every lesson.

I currently charge £20 per hour or £12 per half hour. Your first lesson is free!
