Cycling CV
Presently a fully accredited National Standards (Bikeability) Instructor trainer employed by Bromley Council on a part time basis training new cycle instructors either to work with Bromley Council or to become freelance instructors.
I am also qualified to deliver Ride Management and Ride Supporter courses.
I also deliver cycle maintenance courses to those who need it up to National Standard level.
On Saturdays I work with Wheels for Wellbeing instructing and guiding Special Needs cyclists at Croydon Arena.
I have a cycle maintenance contract with Riverside School looking after their fleet of about 30 special needs bikes and trikes.
I am working with Bethlem Royal Hospital in various different cycle related projects. These being:-
1/ Escorting the patients on clinical exercise trips around the grounds
2/ Maintenance of their fleet of bikes and trikes (about16 in all)
3/ Promoting cycling as a healthier travel option to the Hospital Staff.
I am at the moment coaching with the local Go-Ride clubs run by British Cycling.
Presently I am working with the Penge and Orpington Go-Ride clubs.
I am also an active member of the Bromley Cyclist’s group promoting cycling in Bromley. I do not own a car in the normal sense of the word but I do use a very small 3 wheeled pick-up truck, a Piaggio Ape 50, for my Cycle Repair business. Nearly all my transport needs are satisfied by bike, train and the 49cc Pick-up !!
I have been working as a cycle instructor for the last 3.5years and have a vast experience with many different clients and their needs.
As a cyclist I have done many of the Classic UK rides and recently completed a cycle tour in Ethiopia.
I have been actively engaged with cycling first as a hobby then as a business for about 15 years now and for the last 2.5 years it has been my full time occupation.
Back in the dim and distant past I was a Motorcycle instructor for the RAC / ACU training scheme in Maidstone where I became a Chief Instructor.
So I have many years of experience training and teaching on two wheeled vehicles.
I also run a small mobile bicycle repair and service business locally.
