Sue holds the National Teaching Certificate for Tutoring Adults, teaching all aspects of soft furnishings. She lectures nation-wide, training interior designers’ staff and those wishing to enter the Soft Furnishings business themselves.
She also teaches those wishing to furnish their or friends’ home & those looking for a career change, Sue also helps those looking to move on from the forces.
Students have travelled from as far as Victoria BC Canada, Maryland & Florida U.S.A., Eire, Isle Of Man, France, Spain, Germany, Finland, Belgium,
New Delhi, NSW Australia, New Zealand to Edinburgh.
Sue contributes ‘How to Make ‘articles for Sewing World Magazine, this has brought more interest from dressmakers who can easily move into Soft Furnishings using their present sewing knowledge. The Witney Sewing Machine Centre (01993 - 704 535) and GTS Sewing Machines in Banbury, Oxfordshire, are sponsors for the Sewing Machines used
The 1st BBC Good Homes Show at the N.E.C. Birmingham, brought audiences of 200 plus to see Sue demonstrate her skills in 11 sessions over a period of 5 days. She showed how to have 'High Style Window Dressings at Low Cost', also demonstrating the basics of 'Headboard & Loose Cover Making'.
Sue again, demonstrated 'Loose Cover' making at future 'BBC Good Homes Show’, but this time for the Association of Master Upholstery & Soft Furnishings.
She runs her own Soft Furnishing Business, being a specialist in Arch Window Treatments and Loose Covers. Her approach is the easier way to make soft furnishings from low cost fabrics with emphasis on style, taking the ‘mystery’ out of working with fabrics, and also knowing how ‘Adults learn best as adults’.

Spend the day with a Qualified Tutor of Adults who teaches in Adult Education Centres & runs her own
Soft Furnishings Business. Sue is member of the
Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers.
Workshops have limited spaces to ensure you have
personal attention & tuition.
We start at 10am prompt with ‘Hands On’ session until lunch We continue into the afternoon finishing around 4pm.
Included in the fee is the use of tools, equipment,
notes, lunch & refreshments.
You may bring your own sewing machine if you prefer,
do bring thread to match your own fabric if needed.
Bring along your spectacles if you wear them!
