Thomson was born in the United States, has lived in seven different states, lived in England for three years, and in Germany for six months. If you asked his friends how they would describe him: Thomsen Young is an international nomad that just cannot resist the temptation to travel abroad. Thomsen, graduated from David Douglas High School and was accepted to the University of Oregon to study History in Education. He decided to transfer to RIT to pursue a degree in Public Policy with a focus in Computer and Cyber Crime policy. After six months in the political world as an intern for Assemblyman William Colton for the New York State Assembly, Thomsen decided it was time to get a real job in the real world. What Thomsen never expected to happen is his new profound love for animals. As an office manager working for an animal hospital, Thomsen learned the importance of understanding that a pet love for their owner is totally unconditional. Only if we could see that more often in people, how much better would society be off!

Being exposed to the world on an international level has taught Thomsen how to manage his time wisely as well as how to learn to understand the unique customs of diverse cultures around the world. Lastly, He loves American Sign Language. He is a gentleman stuck between two worlds: the hearing world and the deaf world. His goal for this class is that the students are challenged to do things they have never done before and to challenge them to try to do something new…whatever it may be. If there is one thing that stands out about Thomsen, it is his love to debate and learn about certain issues. Just like William Shakespeare, life is full of pondering questions.
