Originally a bass player gigging around London, I have been involved in music production and songwriting since the 80s and the days of 8- and 16-track tape machines. I set up my first serious studio in 1988. I have worked as a lecturer in this area since 1994 and have taught levels from beginner to HND Music Technology. I am expert in MIDI, sequencing, sampling, audio editing, sound recording and music production generally. I have been an active member of my professional association, the Music Producers Guild, since the 90s and have worked as a visiting producer on several annual MPG Recording Summer Schools at Glamorgan University, working with live bands.

I have been using the Logic family of software as my main studio writing and recording tool since its ancestor C-Lab Creator in 1988, using Logic itself since 1998. I have used and taught other software, for example Cubase. I have written, produced and sold many tracks for library music and multimedia use, as well as producing tracks for singers, rappers and bands, remixing and recording live gigs. I currently have a solo album out on iTunes and other major digital outlets and an working on new projects with a singer and a sax player. You can hear mixes done by me in Logic on this album: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/nadeemkhan - A unique fusion of Indian Classical Vocals, Western flute, and world beats.

For Logic in particular I can teach you about:

*basic recording using Core Audio;
*Song construction and use of the Arrange window;
*Use of the mixer, including Automation and EQ;
*Use of effects plugins, both as Aux effects and inserts;
*Audio editing, including timestretching and pitchshifting;
*Use and editing of Logic's built-in synthesisers and sampler;
*Use of 3rd party plugins, both synths and effects;
*MIDI editing in various windows;
*Use of keyboard shortcuts, screen sets and ways of improving productivity and workflow;
*Backup and storage of song data (this is far more important than some people imagine!)
*I can also give expert input on non-Logic issues such as microphone placement and other recording techniques.

I am happy to work with motivated people of any age and have a current CRB clearance.
