This is an 8 week course in which Max Dickins will coach you from being a total novice into a funny and confident performer, culminating in a live showcase in front of your family and friends.

Max is a working professional stand-up. He has been there and done it, and continues to do it most night of the week, so he knows all about the journey from novice to professional. Thus he has unique insight into what it takes, and what has helped him make the jump.

Our course is about giving you the philosophy and the skills to produce great work over the long-term. We aim to help you express as well as possible what is uniquely funny about you.

We will provide a safe environment for our students to perform a short set every week. We don’t think you can learn comedy from a book: you need to learn by doing it and finding out what is hilarious about you by getting feedback from a good coach.

You will learn how to write hilarious material, and also how to perform it with charisma and skill. Furthermore, you will be given an insider’s view of the circuit to help you find gigs and avoid the common pitfalls of beginners.

We promise you’ll leave the course much more creative and more confident than when you arrived.
