Learn how to paint a range of popular subjects using traditional and contemporary Chinese brush painting techniques. Traditional Chinese painting involves essentially the same techniques as calligraphy and is done with a brush dipped in black or colored ink; oils are not used. As with calligraphy, the most popular materials on which paintings are made of are paper and silk.

Our classes will gradually increase in difficulty, and feature such subjects as swallows, bamboo, wild orchids, plum blossoms, pandas, horses, peonies and more.

Our teacher, Yeut Yean Teo, graduated from Nangyang Academy of Fine Art, which is the most prestigious art college in Singapore, and The Camberwell College of Art where she specialised in Oil and Acrylic painting, Chinese Painting and calligraphy. She will be teaching Chinese painting and calligraphy at our studio in Whitechapel on every Friday evenings from 6:30-9:00pm.
