Music Theory - Staves and Clefs - making sense of the lines and dots.

This session follows on from the "You know more than you think", but can be taken by beginners who feel confident about jumping straight in.
Clefs and staffs are used to indicate to musicians what pitch to play, but there are many different types, used by many different instrumentalists. This session will focus on the two most common - treble and bass. It will involve a range of practical exercises utilising your instrument and writing down the pitch of simple melodies), and playing simple melodies form the page (Singers will sing and se keyboard.
No keyboard skills required: in the process (if you do not already know) you will learn how the notes are laid out on a piano keyboard, one of the most useful tools in learning music theory.
