Pattern Cutting

During this lesson you will learn how to measure yourself correctly and interpret the pattern instructions. You will then lay out the pattern on the fabric and make any pattern alterations needed, (i.e. length of skirt or sleeves). You will learn how to measure the grain lines and pin. I will teach you what all the markings on the pattern mean and how to interpret them before cutting out. You will then cut out the pattern.

I will teach you how to read the instructions on the pattern indicating where initial preparations of the material are needed before the 'sewing up' of the garment can begin. For example: tailors tacks and where to do them; interfacing and why we need it; stay stitching, and what it prevents.

We will then read through the pattern instructions together, looking at the skills you will learn in your next lesson.

Then you'll be ready to sew it up!

The price of this course does not include your pattern and material.
