The first time we meet, we spend putting the saxophone together properly! You'd be amazed at how some people think they should go. Then we talk about reeds, mouthpieces, posture, breathing, practise regimes. I am very strict, so you'd better listen up well! If I catch you putting your mouthpiece on with the crook already on the horn, there'll be trouble......Will you get a note? Some people do, some don't, but don't despair. It is quite an easy instrument to learn, and just takes practise, and attitude. As in good...
Following this first lesson, you go through a standard tutorial book, plus quite a bit extra, in the way of scales, arpeggios, playing by ear, and whatever else you're up for. I ask that a beginner gives the initial process of learning at least twelve lessons - after that we both know whether or not its going to be a success.
