DSLRs for beginners

Classes available on weekends and weekday evenings.
If you are new to DSLRs this lesson will help you do the following:
1) Understand your camera settings thoroughly
2) Learn to shoot in manual mode - impress your friends by not using automatic modes, by getting those difficult shots in bad lighting conditions
3) Creative shooting - tricks to get interesting shots using non-standard exposures and apertures. e.g. how to shoot star trails, etc.
Whether you want to shoot better pictures of your family and friends or nature or architecture... this is the place to begin. In a simple and easy manner understand ISO, aperture, focal lengths and all those terms that your photographer friends throw around! And if you are the geeky type I can even get into a fair bit of detail on how cameras and lenses work.
After the class I offer an online session to critique your photos or help you with specific techniques / problems. You can schedule this a week or two after your class so that you have some time to practice the techniques you picked up. The format is simple - you upload the photos to your favorite photo sharing site, and I can walk through them with you on the phone/skype or over IM.
