Book structure for beginners

The aim of the course is to introduce the student to the world of Bookbinding.
The student will be introduced to the use of all the materials and equipment needed in the bookbinding process.
By the end of any basic course the student will be able to bind a soft or an hard-cover book in the "case binding" way, using simple materials as paper, cloth or buckram. But also different kind of leather.
The student will also be able to:
Knowing the materials and choose the right ones.
Knowing the paper and understand the grain direction.
Saw a single or a multi-sections text block.
Forward the text block: rounding and backing, lining the spine, make the endpapers.
Make a case for the book.
Print a simple title on the cover.
Case in the book.
