Piano & Theory Teacher - Lessons in Brighton and Hove
Hello my name is Ross. Music wise, my playing has taken me all over the world - I've played North Sea ferry gigs in gale force winds, piano bars in New Orleans and blues tours through a good chunk of Europe. The exciting part is not knowing what will be next. I've also been lucky enough to train under some seriously fantastic musicians: try googling Barack Schmool or Nicola Eimer as they are my highlights.
Home at the moment is Brighton, although I split my time between Brighton and Oxfordshire (due to a business startup I'm currently working on). I teach at both locations during different parts of the week and book up pretty quickly, so you gotta get in early!
I've been teaching successfully for around 12 years in both Oxfordshire and Brighton. I currently have a 100% pass record for graded exams (although there is absolutely no pressure to take grades).
My approach to teaching is, in short, to create bespoke lesson frameworks which suit the aims of my students. My first job is to listen to what route you want your playing to take and then assess where you are. We can then make a plan together, taking into account how much practice time is available to you. And yes, you need to do some practice!
