Returning to Piano Lessons after a (Long!) Break

£25 Make an enquiry

Many adults started learning piano as a child, but for whatever reason didn't continue. A lot of the enquiries I receive are from adults keen to get back into playing, but not quite sure how to get started again.

Lessons can provide a structure for learning, and they can also help keep you going when motivation (or being too busy!) leaves practice behind.

It might be that all the scales and exams of childhood learning put you off, and now you'd like to concentrate on learning what exactly you would like to play. This is definitely something I can cater for - you take the lead in what you want to learn, and I provide the knowledge and experience to guide you.

Or maybe you wish you had made more of the training! Even done more exams!! Lots of adults are now taking exams with ABRSM, Rockschool, and Trinity Guildhall. Many of my adult students have taken Grades in Piano and in Music Theory, particularly with the ABRSM. I can support you in working towards these achievements, hopefully having fun and relaxation along the way! Exams don't have to be a boring slog - they can instead be a marker of success in playing which has been already achieved.

Please don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions you might have about returning to lessons!
