Piano Lessons

£37.50 Make an enquiry

Piano lessons for children aged 6 to 11 aim at nurturing and developing a love for piano, giving each student the tools to communicate through the universal language of music.

Students are given the opportunity to perform in front of an audience twice a term, and are able to meet other pianists from a similar age and level in termly workshops, joining a vibrant community of young piano players.

Lessons focus on the following elements:

Broadening the pupil's musical culture.
Developing the student's music theory, sight-reading and aural skills in a practical way by participating in improvisation and composition related activities.
Developing good practice habits and learning strategies.
Setting up a healthy posture and technique from the start.
Learning and mastering pieces from a repertoire ranging from the 17th to the 21st century.
Learning to perform in front of an audience and cope with performance anxiety.
Preparing for ABRSM or Trinity College Music Grade Exams, if it is the right choice for the student's personality and abilities.

After the first trial lesson, classes can be booked termly. Each term consists of 10 individual lessons, 1 workshop and 1 short recital and end of term gathering.

All students are required to have regular access to a piano or 88 keys weighted keyboard after the first month of lessons.
