How to use a good Microphone

£25 Make an enquiry

I've been teaching this topic to a wide diversity of students for over 10 years. Its fun, challenging, practical and you normally work in pairs if its a small group.
Some theory is woven into the practical so 'you-do-as-you-learn'.

This introductory topic on mics is the start of the Beginners Course (or Level 1). This session also touches on the supporting theory so that at the end you atleast understand why you don't use 4db lift at 500Hz to make a voice clearer !!

This Level 1 Course contains 10 x 3hr Sessions which takes you through all stages of the recording process from musician to playback
Level 2 (also 10 sessions) is more intense and introduces you to the more detail. For example: when would you use a parametric equaliser and not a graphic equaliser. To answer that effectively you do need more practice, examples, theory and discussion.

I have produced various supporting Session Notes over the years that have been refined by student feedback, so you can be assured that what you learn, and how you learn, are well proven to work.

I know that these kinds of sessions can be quite difficult, they are technical and you are handling expensive kit, so I use humour alot! Once you are smiling you are learning.
