Yoga can be practised by anybody – whatever your age, shape and size or level of physical fitness. Regular practice of yoga will improve your physical and emotional fitness.

Alison specializes in helping people to feel focussed, confident and less stressed through the practice of yoga by combining the physical practice (the asanas), with breathing (pranayama) and meditation. Each session will be tailored to your needs and she’ll help you improve your physical and emotional fitness.

Yoga helps to:
Improve physical fitness – flexibility, muscle tone, strength and stamina.
Generates a sense of calm.
Creates a feeling of well being.
Increases confidence and self esteem.
Improves focus and concentration.
Improves circulation and stimulates the immune system.

The practice of yoga is over 5000 years old and the word translates as ‘union’. It developed in India as a spiritual practice and the physical practice which we call yoga in the west, came much later. The postures and breathing help to clear and purify the mind so the yogi can achieve union of mind and body, a spiritual experience.

Alison is a qualified teacher with Yoga Alliance (200 hours) and holds an Accredited Teaching Diploma from the British Wheel of Yoga.
