Patchwork for beginners (TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE)

£40 Make an enquiry

Patchwork and quilting is more popular than ever for good reason. It's immensely satisfying to do, but there are also literally thousands of beautiful fabrics in the quilting world just waiting to be combined to create your masterpiece.

Try your hand at patchwork (by hand) with this very basic, completely unscary, lesson.

Learn to create square and triangle templates, mark/cut/stitch your fabric with precision and all the skills you need to join the pieces together into a quilt top.

When you feel you have the grips of that, you'll be ready to try more advanced techniques like working with curves or offset piecing.

I can travel to meet students anywhere in Epsom or the surrounding areas, including Ewell, Sutton, Cheam, Ashtead, Leatherhead, Banstead or similar.

We can arrange to meet in a venue near you or your own home.

Included materials:

template plastic
1 6" quilters rule
1 propelling pencil
1 sheet of sandpaper (you'll see!)
1 pattern
1 needle

The student will need to provide:

3 fat quarters of fabric
1 spool of thread

(I can show you great places to get these online).

Lessons can be held on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, or any evening in the week (except Tuesdays).
