My name is Noel Hathaway, I've been playing the guitar for over 30 years and as a teacher I have over 10 years experience. My aim is to help you find your voice on the guitar no matter what your experience level or taste in music. As a guitar teacher I see my role as a guide not a dictator - I'm here to help you learn to make music on the instrument in a clear and thorough way.

I have a genuine passion for the instrument, a continuing desire to learn new skills and to pass these on through education. I aim to help students of all ages and abilities; those just starting to play - children and adults, to those who have been playing for a while and are looking for new ideas and to improve their technique. I see students who are preparing for performances, exams and/or recording sessions.

The format of the lessons aren't set in stone and I aim to create a programme that addresses your needs. I don't try to force my musical tastes on you during your time with me. The format of each lesson varies from person to person, however through all my lessons I do encourage the development of organised, efficient practise to help you make the most of your time and develop more quickly.

I can help you with;
Acoustic Guitar; Classical, Flamenco. Acoustic and Slide Guitar
Electric Guitar; Most styles; Blues, Jazz, Rock, Funk
Learn Favourite Songs; note for note or become great at improvising to them
Practical relevant music theory to deepen you knowledge of musical styles and the instrument
Increase confidence; working out what to practice and how best to do it
Exams; Trinity Guildhall, ABRSM, RGT and Rockschool
