Introduction to Philosophy

This course offers a basic introduction to philosophy through very short readings of classic texts by Plato, Decsartes, Rousseau, Ryle, Popper and Quine. I provide the text (which usually won't take more than 30 minutes to read), then we discuss it in the session.
The course has special relevance to questions about scientific knowledge, the nature of the human mind, religious belief and touches on political and moral philosophy. It can, of course, be extended to include more texts or texts from different periods or traditions.
This course would be great for anyone just beginning to study philosophy, including students of related subjects and those who just always wanted to know a bit more about it.
As usual, you pay per session rather than up front and I'm happy to take a small group of students, which makes the cost per student significantly lower.
