Maths Tuition
I use a common sense approach to tuition; I go over the work the student has recently done as well as revising what has been done so far (as most students come to me part way through their course). This allows me to personalise the tuition to the pupil, quickly skipping over the concepts that the pupil understands leaving time for us to concentrate on the problems.
Where ever possible, I relate the problems at hand to real life scenarios showing how the problem may be encountered in their future lives (key to helping the student is to know a little about them to help motivate them).
Most schools will use one of two series of books for maths for both standard grade and higher grade. I tend to use the book they use for work they have recently completed and the other book for revision. As well as setting questions of my own. If your child is studying Advance higher, then as there is only one book, I tend to use either “A” level books or university books.
