Burniston and Cloughton Village Hall was opened in 1965 to serve the two villages and surrounding rural area. It has a large hall with a marked Badminton court, an adjoining supper room, store rooms, kitchen, toilets, including a separate disabled toilet. Also a good size stage with sound and lighting.

The hall is used by local groups of all ages. A Pop In session, run by the WRVS, on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm, includes coffee, lunch and Bingo. There are several small Badminton groups, a Junior Club on Friday evenings for primary age children from 5.30pm to 7pm followed by Band rehearsals. Line dancing for all on Tuesdays 7pm to 10pm. On the first thursday in the month W.I.meetings are held. At the moment Monday and Wednesday evenings are in need of a regular booking. Daytime sessions are also available.

Other events include Annual Pantomimes, Firework displays, Sports Day, Religious ceremonies and a Drama Group performs twice yearly. The hall is well used by casual users for parties, weddings, meetings etc.

The grounds have a newly refurbished enclosed childrens play area with picnic tables. Tennis courts, in need of repair. An area suitable for ball games with a Football net. The Bowling Club have an excellent green and welcome new members. It is hoped to renew their Pavilion soon.

A beck runs through the grounds which have been used for orienteering by a childrens group. There is an area of newly planted sponsered trees to add interest and develop the grounds for the future.
