Kagyu Ling Buddhist Centre
Kagyu Ling was Manchester’s first Buddhist centre and it follows the teachings of the Karma Kagyu tradition. The centre was established in 1975 by Lama Jampa Thaye under the spiritual authority of Karma Thinley Rinpoche. Lama Jampa Thaye visits the Centre regularly to give teachings.
Kagyu Ling has hosted visits from some of the greatest masters of modern times, including His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, His Holiness the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa, His Holiness Sakya Trizin, Kalu Rinpoche, Dingo Khyense Rinpoche and Bokar Rinpoche. The centre is run by volunteers and funded by donations.
