scrapbook iconChanging Guitar Chords

Achieving fluency and speed in changing chords on guitar is so importnat and crucial to being a good guitar player.

Try and imagine shapes of chords; e.g. D7 as the pyramid, D as the inverted pyramid, etc.

Even more important is to minimise the movement of the left hand fretting fingers (assuming right handed). Often fingers are common to certain chords e.g. C chord to a D7 where the LH 1 st finger should remain on the C (1st fret of the second B string)

More important again is practice then practice more until its natural, easy and almost seamless changing chords.

Hope this helps.
