I have been practising Ving Tsun/Wing Chun since 1971. I originally started Ving Tsun under Sifu Joseph Cheng in London in 1971 and at the same time also trained in Tae Kwon Do. Having had a few teachers since that time including research into other Kung Fu systems, I met and became a student of Wong Shun Leung in 1985. Since that time until Wong Shun Leung passed away in 1997, I have been a direct student of Wong Shun Leung. However, my Ving Tsun has still developed by observing other ideas from my peers in the Wong Shun Leung system. Since 2007, I have also been studying the Fang Ning method of Yang Tai Chi which is a source of Tai Chi very relevant to combat. An understanding of the bio-mechanics of this particular Tai Chi has also helped to develop Ving Tsun to a deeper level and a more efficient degree for advanced students who have experienced a number of years of Ving Tsun.
