ISH Dance Teacher

I teach most cultural dance forms and specialise in Bollywood, Bhangra, Street.
I have been dancing since the age of five. Growing up in an unsettling home environment, I always felt like dancing was my escapism. I would turn into a complete different character. It made me feel strong and confident; a complete transformation from my real life. I feel most happy when i dance- it takes me to a completely different world! As a young British Asian, I was exposed and influenced by lots of different dance forms from the old westerns, musicals to bollywood. I also had a huge interest in other dance styles such as salsa, flamenco and ballroom.
During my youthful years I was highly involved and influenced by the popular music culture; I choreographed dance routines for hip hop artists as well as performed locally – my dancing was noticed and complemented so I felt compelled and excited to use my talents in a positive way.
I decided to teach and choreograph- I set up ISH DANCE FUSION company after leaving my permanent job at a mainstream high school back in 2009-2010 and since then I have been moving from strength to strength with the Grace of God.
