Unidos de Londres or London School of Samba (LSS) is proud to be the godparent of Samba in the UK. Formed by a nucleus of 12 musicians in January 1984, our colours of green and white were given to us by our first Mestre de baterĂa. This was in honour of one of the greatest Samba Schools in Rio - our patrons Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel.

As a registered charity, LSS aims to function as an efficient and inspirational voluntary organisation, offering people of all abilities and backgrounds the opportunity to participate in, and develop knowledge and skills of the arts with specific focus on Brazilian Carnival.

We have taught Samba drumming and dancing to over 26,000 individuals and have performed for over 1.5 million people. We offer weekly open access workshops and maintain a roster of clients including the BBC, Tate Modern, and Royal Festival Hall.
In addition to our dancing and percussion we also make costumes
