I teach mindfulness, meditation and Buddhism.

I've practiced Buddhism and meditation since I was a teenager. I studied English Literature at Cambridge, coming away with a First Class hons and my interest in poetry, literature and drama flavours how I teach.

I've been teaching meditation since 1992 and undertaken many retreats including a four month retreat in Spain and long retreats in Sri Lanka and Bhutan. In recent years I have become a mindfulness trainer, learning first with Breathworks, one of the leading UK mindfulness organisations, and I teach Breathworks courses in pain. I've also trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Michael Chaskalson and the University of Bangor's Centre for Mindfulness.

You may have seen my writing or heard me on BBC Radio 4’s Thought for the Day, where I have been the Buddhist contributor since 2006. My most recent book is a biography of the Buddha: ‘Gautama Buddha: the Life and Teachings of the Awakened One’.

Looking for: teachers, networking and collaboration.
