I'm intested in building a new musical instrument which is a cross between a clavichord and a guitar. Does anyone have any experience with this kind of thing?
Zuhal Sultan is a 17-year-old pianist who lives in Baghdad. Her aim is to set up the National Youth Orchestra of Iraq (NYOI).
I've been lucky enough to get to know Zuhal over skype over the past 6 months as a mentor on Channel 4's Battlefront programme and we actually met for the first time today. Zuhal is in London giving her first performance in the UK at the Wigmore Hall.

A good website for those studying music and looking for help on extra notes etc ppmta.ie (post primary music teachers association) and exam papers and marking schemes available at the sec.ie (state exams commission)
Just stumbled on 8Notes, a UK-based social network for musicians. You can upload your own music, share and download sheet music, and talk to other musicians via a lively forum.
They have a good-sized collection of not very printable musician jokes too. When I was learning classical violin many, many moons ago it was always viola jokes - from a quick glance round it looks like nothing much has changed...

Every member of School of Everything can add notes, links, videos, images, documents and other things to the site that help people learn or teach a particular subject. If you're learning, you can use it to keep track of your progress in your subjects and all the things that help you learn like useful websites or how-to videos.
If you're teaching, you can share useful resources and advice that you think will help people learn you subjects. You can tag each resource post with one or more subjects, and your posts will appear to other people looking for those subjects.
Don't be shy, say hello. We'd love to hear from you.
