Adam Martin
Adam started to learn the guitar eight years ago and has been teaching for the past four. Playing in many different bands and ensembles over the past few years on both electric and acoustic guitar, Adam has performed extensively throughout Leeds’ venues and studios with frequent gigs around the rest of the country. Well trained and developed as a professional producer, composer and arranger he draws upon all these elements in his teaching to offer a wide spectrum of invaluable content.
Adam’s radio work includes performances on BBC Radio Leeds, ELFM and LSRFM whilst his performance credits include venues such as The Cockpit, The Faversham, The HiFi Club, The Brudenell Social Club and Leeds University as well as national tour dates.
All of these experiences can be drawn upon to inspire students, help develop their learning and ultimately ensure that all their needs are constantly met.
Teaching Style:
Adam’s lessons adopt an informal yet focused style where themes of fun, creativity and originality run through each lesson. Students of any ages are catered for with a versatile approach to tuition with the constant aim to deliver students with the skills and knowledge needed to progress.
Syllabi:
Lessons are tailored for the student’s needs to make sure each gets exactly what they need from each lesson. Students are encouraged to pick styles, songs and subjects they are interested in to make the lessons as enjoyable as possible. Music theory, performance style, composition and improvisation can all be covered alongside ABRSM or Rock School grades dependent on the student’s wishes.
Specialties:
Adam’s specialties are diverse but mainly lie in the fields of electric rock guitar and acoustic folk/pop. His acoustic abilities and unique approach to the instrument are of particular interest to many students whilst his ability on electric guitar across the genres of metal, funk, jazz and pop provide an eclectic and versatile teaching experience.
Adam’s work as a professional producer can also be incorporated into lessons to help students record their own work, develop their compositional style and learn about guitar technology.

Teaching location:
Adam is based in the Hyde Park, Headingley area but will travel to the City Center or close by.
