My name's Adrian Townsend and I teach and play the drums professionally in and around Preston.

I can help you to play songs on the drums in a very short period of time and get excellent, satisfying results at a remarkable rate with relatively little practice time.

Most people want to be able to sit down at the drums with no sheet music and play songs they have known and loved for years. I focus on getting to this outcome as directly as possible.

The first lesson is completely free and can be taken without obligation or commitment, so you've really nothing to lose.

Live Performances

Playing the drums for me is all about performing live, to an audience.

Since 2002 I have played in local groups in and around Preston, mostly centered around rock and indie music.

Previous groups I have played with are Red Museum, Y'r Impossible, Pterodactyls and currently New Zealand Story.

Educational history

A Level Music

September, 2001 - May, 2003
Runshaw College
After finishing high school I decided to further my musical studies and decided to study music at Runshaw College. This enabled me to broaden my musical knowledge base and mix with other music students.

Drum Tuition

January, 1997 - January, 2003
Private Tuition
I had a taster session at the age of thirteen at school, this led to further private lessons with Robert Marsden Rigby, a local drummer and private tutor, much like myself now. Robert had an interesting way of teaching me to play. He showed me how to play the drums to music that I liked, and that is the main reason behind me contiuing to play the drums as long as I have.
