Ali Holloway

I am an experienced and enthusiastic weaver, I trained at Central Saint Martins and have been weaving for over 20 years. I weave fabrics for both fashion and interiors using a variety of materials from fine silks and wools to, paper, wire and plastics. I also hand dye many of the yarns I use.

I teach adults and children in fun and interesting one to one lessons at my studio in Dalston. Lessons are taught on my 24 shaft Louet Magic Dobby loom and I provide a large range of yarns and other materials to experiment with.

For the beginner this will include an introduction to the basics of weaving, an opportunity to try out different weave techniques and materials and the student will be given a comprehensive set of notes to take home.
For the student with some weaving experience the lessons will provide the opportunity to explore more complex weave structures and to try dying yarns and the student will also be given notes to take home.
