WEIGHT LOSS PSYCHOTHERAPY
We understand that its really difficult to lose weight and keep it off. People over-eat for a reason and often this reason is not addressed during the weight-loss process.

The Green Rooms has developed a specialised Therapeutic Slimming model which supports you to deal with the underlying reasons for overeating/binging in addition to changing your eating and exercise behaviours.

If nutritional education is required this is also provided. The number of sessions that you would require depends on the extent of your current difficulties and how ready you are to make changes. If you feel ready to make a difference and ready to start loving and respecting your body, there's no reason why using The Green Rooms Therapeutic Slimming Model wouldn't be of huge benefit to you.

COACHING
Coaching is for those people who are fairly emotionally stable and wish to concentrate on changing one particular area of their life. It assists you to determine and achieve personal goals. Our coaches use a variety of methods, tailored to the client, to move through the process of setting and reaching goals.

MINDFULNESS
Many people find it hard to cope with the pressures of modern living. Every day, a quarter of a million people miss work because of stress, with 75 per cent of all illnesses thought to be stress-related. And when times are hard, It can be difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing and yoga. It helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we're better able to manage them.

Practising mindfulness can give people more insight into their emotions, boost their attention and concentration and improve relationships. It's proven to help with stress, anxiety, depression and addictive behaviours, and can even have a positive effect on physical problems like hypertension, heart disease and chronic pain.

Anyone can learn mindfulness. It's simple, you can practise it anywhere, and the results can be life-changing.

COUNSELLING AND PSYCHOTHERAPY
There is no clear distinction between counselling and psychotherapy ('therapy' for short) in the UK. In reality it doesn't matter what it's called as long as it's working for you.

Therapy gives you the space to focus on your issues in a constructive way. Your therapist will guide you to a better understanding of yourself. This empowers you to find solutions to your issues by making changes in your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

There are many reasons why people benefit from therapy and all reasons are valid. It is important not to minimise your issues because other people don't understand them. Examples of issues are experiencing abuse, low self esteem, bereavement, addiction, eating disorders, sexuality issues, relationship problems and illness to name but a few.

The number of sessions needed is unique to each client and will depend on your goals, how you use your time between sessions and how much support you have. Even with limited time or finances, realistic goals can still be achieved.
