Student of Tai Chi Chuan since 1979 Alison takes a particular interest in making Tai Chi available to people of all abilities. Alison developed the Tai Chi Based Exercise training to enable those leading exercise sessions with people who have special needs to bring the principles of Tai Chi into their classes.

Alison studied Tai Chi initially with Alan Peck of Natural Way Tai Chi School, later with Angus Clark of Living Movement, Dr Paul Lam and a number of tai chi teachers specialising in health and special needs. Classes include: Cheng Man Ching Style, as taught by Dr Chi Chiang Tao; Dr Paul Lam's Tai Chi for Arthritis; seated Tai Chi.
