I'm a 57 year old retired pediatrician who for the past ten years has been giving individual music instruction in piano, guitar, clarinet, alto sax, violin, viola, and drums at the beginner to intermediate level to children and adults. I hold a musical instrument camp every summer, during which I introduce children from ages 5 to 13 to the basics of music theory and playing one of the above instruments, further advance the training of those who already play, and expose the children to music from other parts of the world. I invite artists to come and share their special view of the world through their music, focusing on instruments, like the bagpipes or the oud, with which the children are unfamiliar. I try to have instruments from each family so that they can make comparisons with the ones they see and play every day. Mine is still a very small endeavor; I've built my clientele one by one, mostly by word of mouth.I believe that we who share this planet can learn so much about one another through the music we create, and I know for a fact that there is substantive healing in creating and performing music ourselves. I want to share my passion for music and wholeness with others while they're still young enough to experience life unjaded.

Aimed at: Beginner and Intermediate.

The higher rate is for students who wish for me to come to their home, as opposed to coming to my "studio", which is currently the church where I attend. (First Christian Church at Brock Hall in Upper Marlboro, MD) I teach in 30- and 60 minute sessions, as well as 20-minute session for children under 6 years.
