I studied double bass at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, achieving a BA (musical studies) degree.
My main teachers at college were Duncan McTier, Corin Long and Ninian Perry.
I played double bass with the experimental band Swelling Meg until 2000, and then went on to play with songwriters such as Carol Laula, Holly Thomas and Lee Patterson.
At the moment I am playing with harpist and composer Fiona Rutherford.

I currently teach privately, offering a good technical grounding on the instrument, whatever your preferred style of music.
