I offer Yoga and Nutritional Coaching.

I run 6 classes in my own Yoga Studio at the Mind and Body Centre in Bury and teach 4 more classes at gyms and spas in the area.

I also offer corporate yoga and meditation and yoga for office workers.
I offer private classes for the individual or small groups of friends and family and can combine Yoga and Nutritional Coaching for added benefit.

Hatha is a traditional style of Yoga which is a good mixture of standing postures, balance postures, flows, postures on the mat, breathing, meditation and relaxation. Classes vary from week to week.

Yin is a great complementary style for those already practising yoga - it allows the soft tissure in and around the muscles and joints including the spine to gently stretch for longer to aid comfort and flexibility . It is also a very calming and relaxing style. There are variations in pose to suit all anatomies - yin is evolving so no longer just a complementary style it is becoming a style in its own right.

Yoga sitting/Restorative Yoga a very specific and personalised style of Yoga to deal with health and well being issues and good for those with limited energy or movement as well as more agile people wanting to develop a complete sense of well-being.

Beginners are welcome at any of our Yoga classes and because members are encouraged to work at their own pace there is no need to feel out of your depth. Some people who have been coming long term have difficulty with some postures and some people who have only just started can take up the same posture with ease. Classes are small and friendly and you are encouraged to develop an awareness of your own body and movement - it is treated as more than an exercise regime and most people find it very relaxing for the body and the mind. However, we recognise that sometimes it is difficult for someone to join an established class and we periodically run a course for beginners. If you have a group of friends that would like an introductory workshop we can arrange one just for you.

Beginners class A new beginners class will be starting in January 2010 and will run on Tuesday evenings for 10 weeks. At the end of that time you will be able to opt to join our regular classes. The cost will be £50 for the 10 classes and they will start at 6.00 and run through to 7.30pm.

Equipment - no need to bring your own mats or blankets we have a supply in the studio, although you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer. If you are coming regularly you may choose to build up some other equipment like bolsters, blocks etc (which we sell) although there are many people in the classes who do not have lots of equipment and we can improvise.

Workshops - approximately monthly we hold a Saturday morning workshop that lasts for 3 hours and gives time to cover some on the things that we cannot cover in a regular class in greater depth. Usually the workshops are themed for a specific aim whether that is a condition i.e. back care or a more detailed look at specific postures etc.

Everyone is welcome to our classes and workshop whether they attend another class but want the extra practise at the weekend or are attending one of our classes during the holidays when their regular class is closed.

What to Wear - nothing special - just loose fitting trousers and a comfortable T shirt will be fine. If you want to wear specialised yoga gear that's fine too. It is a good idea to bring a warm top and socks for relaxing interludes.

You do not have to attend the same class each week and can mix and match.
