Hello! I have an MA in Music from Hertford College, Oxford University (with a 1st Class in Flute Performance) and a Diploma in Flute Performance from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

I teach flute, music theory and also offer GCSE and A-Level Music tuition, both from home in Surbiton and at students' houses.

I studied the flute under Kate Hill, Deborah Davis and Julie Wright and have attended performed in masterclasses with Peter Lloyd and William Bennett, amongst others.

I am a regular flautist with Kingston Chamber Orchestra and was principal flute for Winchester Symphony Orchestra (2008-2010) whilst I lived there. During my time at Oxford University I was principal flute for the Oxford University Philharmonia, Oxford Millennium Orchestra (with whom I performed the Mozart Flute Concerto No. 2) and Oxford University Wind Orchestra. I also organise and perform both solo and chamber music in regular charity concerts.

I have experience teaching a variety of ages and levels, to prepare students for ABRSM exams, and also just learning for the fun of it. I also have experience of children with severe physical and mental learning difficulties (as my sister has Downs Syndrome) and work closely with parents to create lessons that suit their needs.

Lessons are £25 per hour. Preferred locations (if students wish to be taught in their own home) are Surbiton, Kingston, New Malden, Teddington and Hampton and the nearby surrounding areas. For areas significantly further, my hourly rate is £28.

I also offer 30 and 45 minute lessons if this is more suitable to the student.

I have to arrange lessons around my childcare responsibilities but aim to be as flexible as possible when organising lessons.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to ask any questions about my teaching and your needs and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Aimed at: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Online teaching offered

Lessons cancelled with fewer than 24 hours' notice must be paid for, though I am happy to rearrange instead as long as a time can be found suitable to both parties.

I also reserve the right to increase my fees after the first year.
