I've been singing all my life and teaching for over 30 years. I have been involved in community choirs and natural voice work for 15 years now and would like to find more ways of sharing my enjoyment of singing . I am currently working in a range of settings from primary schools (with teachers and pupils) and residential homes for older people. A recent development has been setting up lunchtime choirs in workplaces.
Please note I am not a 'singing teacher' . I work mainly with groups who want to sing, and I teach songs and basic technique.
My music training is classical but my experience is far wider including folk, world music and jazz. I have worked with singers of all ages from 3years old to 103.I have a current CRB certificate and am a member of the Natural Voice practitioners network,Sound Sense and Music Leader.

Halesworth community choir

The community choir was founded in 2006. Our projects are rooted in the landscape, stories and history of this area and are themed accordingly. Our first performance 'Barleycorn' was about the mysteries and magic of barley and beer - appropriate as The Cut is an old Maltings. Our second 'Singing the River' was a song-cycle composed by Bridget about the River Blyth which runs through Halesworth and meets the sea at Walberswick. Our most recent'Ballads of Blything Hundred' , again composed by Bridget, consisted of songs and stories about the area around. We work with local folk band Syzewell Gap and other professionals, for example Sian Croose coaches us to improve our sound as a choir and we have performed with Hugh Lupton (storyteller) and Chris Wood (musician).

Yoxford singing group

YOu don't need to be able to read music to join this group - everything is taught by ear. The group is led by myself and colleague Helen Rolfe, also an experienced Natural Voice group leader. We sing music from many traditions around the world, including AFrican, Maori, Balkan, Georgian, French and British folk songs. We learn harmony songs and rounds to sing together, just for fun.
