Carl Gurney
I have worked as a professional musician since 1994. I did an apprenticeship in a recording studio at age 16. I graduated from 'The Musicians Institute London'.
Initially playing in function bands and then working on cruise ships. Later on I worked with other musicians and songwriters as part of a team writing songs for a production company.
I have also teaching guitar to all levels since 1996. I worked for Herts county council teaching Guitar and A level music technology at Cavendish school in Hemel Hempsted and I also taught at Nicholas Breakspeare school in St. Albans. I am currently teaching from Home in St. Albans and from Hooters Music School in Watford where I taught for over a decade. Many of my students have gone on to study at London universities and some have become teachers and professional musicians themselves. I also have a full CRB certificate which is compulsory for all teachers working in schools and I am also a member of RGT (Registry of Guitar teachers).
