Introduction to felt making Sundays 10.30-1.30pm
This workshop is perfect for beginners to felt making. Follow easy step by step instructions and discover how to make this soft and friendly fabric. Take time out and get to grips with a new skill, you’ll be hooked.

Sewing Surgery
Do you need help to understand paper patterns, how to hem, stitch seams, fastenings and make bags? Then this is the class for you.
Learn basic sewing machine skills whilst making a reversible tote bag. Thread up your machine, get the correct tension and use straight stitch and machine zig-zag.
Follow a paper pattern, lay out the pattern and cut it out. Learn methods of fastenings; zips, buttons, poppers and studs
Sunday Felt making workshops
Paper making Saturday 9th April 2011
You will make decorative papers which you can use in your own projects for crafts,
embroidery, pictures, collage and book making. Explore this wonderful craft using an interesting variety of materials e.g. wire & fabric.
Woven hanging a series of four workshops on Wednesdays in every month.
Using a box loom and fabric bits and pieces I’ll show you how to weave a beautiful wall hanging cascading with colour.

Seamless purse Sunday 20th February 2011, 10.30-1.30pm.
Using a range of colourful fleece you will learn how to make a purse which has no stitched seams. You will learn how to incorporate threads and fabrics into the felt to embellish your purse.

Natural dyeing Sunday 2nd April 2011, 10.30- 2pm
The aim of this workshop is to inspire confidence for those new to natural dyeing and to share information with those already familiar with the processes. You will learn techniques of natural dying using berries and kitchen waste and we will use mordant’s to extend the variety of colours.

This course introduces you to fabric painting using a wax resist, & copper tjanting tools to form wax outlines around your design.
All materials and equipment are provided.
Wednesday Weaving Workshops
Why not learn the art of weaving and join us on the Wednesday Weaving Workshops from 7-9pm. Book onto a series of four workshops costing just £40, to gain a more in depth knowledge of Bead weaving, Basket weaving, Braiding and Box loom weaving. http://www.beetlefelt.co.uk/booking.htm
Braiding this is a four week workshop.
We shall look at examples of braiding and the different methods of creating braids. Using a warping mill and your choice of colours you will be shown how to make a warp. You will make the device to weave with and learn how to manipulate the threads to make sophisticated patterns. Finally we shall make a fringe.
Box loom weaving: Using a box loom and fabric bits and pieces I’ll show you how to weave a beautiful wall hanging cascading with colour. We shall look at examples of weaving. You will learn how to make a heddle and how to thread up a box loom. This method is suitable to use with high school students. We shall arrange the colours and weave them using various techniques. Finally we shall fringe the woven hanging.
