Catherine Pestano is a community musician and Chair of the National Development agency for community music, Sound Sense. She runs a Free your voice community choir in Croydon. She was inspired in this work by Frankie Armstrong and the Natural Voice Practitioners Network (Google Sound Sense music and NVPN for more info).

Catherine leads a small group CRISP which provides diverse community music services to children and adults who can tend to be excluded in different ways, and currently provides services in Croydon's PRUs and for refugees, Looked After Children and unaccompanied minors. She welcomes approaches to do other interesting and socially purposeful work and can help put bids together. She also runs a specialist mental health music service.

Catherine leads training for community music facilitators and, for this and the work of CRISP, was inspired by Phil Mullen and also Rod Paton. THE SMALL PRINT

We want everyone to experience the joy of creative music making and expect all participants to operate with kindness and respect towards each other. Sometimes we work with people who find this difficult at first and we are able to support them. We aim to keep everyone in the group no matter how challenging and projects will be staffed to accommodate this. We provide a professional service for professional rate! But you can always check if we have funding to bring to the table.
