I am a mature lady in mid 40's who has worked in Education for a combination of 3years. Initially with a background in maintenance surveying within housing construction.
I am adaptable and able to relate to young and more mature learners and have worked in recent months with international students. I work privately with some students who have been referred via word of mouth for additional English or Literacy assistance.


Aimed at: Beginner and Intermediate.



CELTA educational practitioner teaching Levels 1-2 and with over three years combined experience initially working in further education as a CERT Ed qualified - Key-skills tutor on City & Guilds, NVQ, OCR and BTEC National courses. Motivated and keen to offer transferrable skills from previous work experience effectively communicating, managing budgets, meeting targets as well as learning any additional skills to facilitate my roles. Experience teaching basic numeracy and literacy within the taught subjects of Construction, Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Customer Service and Security. Holder of A1/Assessor certificate in managing student’s portfolio’s within the NVQ and BTEC qualifications.

Core Skills
 ESOL – some experience of Entry Level 1 – 2 as well as Levels 1 and 2 and pre-evaluation testing.
 In course assessments, exam preparation, monitoring of students work and preparation of portfolios.
 Case-loading of clients for functional skills.
 Participating in course team meetings as well as working independently.
 Motivational training/mentoring Youth at Risk Ltd learning communication skills with youths.
 Communication and interpersonal skills a good command of written and spoken English.
 IfL (Institute for Learning) in-house training as part of Key-skills material resourcing and best practice.
 Experience of working with youth as well as adult learners.
 Currently volunteering at weekends in a community based organisation in their ‘Welcome Team’ actively engaging people to participate in weekly activities to socialise.
