Hi,
My name is Chris, I have been training in Chinese Martial and Healing Arts since 2001. In 2005 I moved to Cumbria to train intensively in Tai Chi, Baguazhang and Qigong with Raymond Towers (UKTQF). I have made Cumbria my home and I teach Tai chi classes in South and West Cumbria.
I am also intersted in music, meditation, Universal Sufism and the Dances of Universal Peace. I lead mantric dances in Ulverston and play for other dance circles in Yealand and Lancaster.
One-to-one lessons
Group Classes
Ulverston Tai Chi
Suitable for all to join.
This class consists of:
*Looseing exercises
*Tai chi form
*Partner exercises
*Meditation
The aim of Tai chi is to relax and coordinate the body and bring the mind to a deeper state.
Tai Chi (taiji) is a method of inner and outer transformation. It is a moving art that is practiced by millions every day.
Tai chi practice improves health, calms mind and spirit and can develop self defense ability, yet it's true gift to humanity lies in it's ancient Taoist philosophy.
"Through building inner harmony and internal strength together with physical relaxation and the philosophy of yielding, we gradually arrive at that place where the defence of the self in daily life no longer serves any purpose" Patrick Kelly

Introduction to: Internal Martial Art of Baguazhang
Baguazhang (Eight Trigram Palm) is a highly dynamic open palm martial art noted for the practice of ‘walking the circle’. The majority of its forms and training are executed whilst walking around the edge of a circle in low postures, which at later stages become more complicated, involving multiple circles. The art is renowned for its flowing movements and rapid changes of direction.
On these courses you will be introduced to Baguazhang’s health, self-defence and meditative qualities. We look primarily at the Eight Powers of Baguazhang, working through the eight gates to give practitioners the tools to practise the principles of Baguazhang, encompassing total body movement and application in the martial and health contexts respectively.
You will be working with specific principles relevant to the Eight Powers, developing twisting, turning and spiralling energy, connectivity, circle walking, martial and health applications and meditation skills.
This Course is taught so as to be suitable for people of all ages and standards, from beginner to advanced level.
