Danielle James

I am a voice, saxophone and flute teacher and I have been teaching for approximately 5 years. I am 29 years old. I have just completed a Degree in instrumental and vocal teaching and will be progressing onto my Masters degree later in the year.

I aim to teach in a safe and enjoyable environment and try to encourage individuality and independant thinking throughout my lessons. I teach ABRSM syllabus mainly but am happy to extend to other work if the student requires it. I also teach improvisation so that the student can familiarise themselves with the instrument and become comfortable with the sounds they can make without relying on reading music all the time. This is also an essential part of aural development throughout the learning process.

I am also a performer alongside my teaching and work in a number of function bands and jazz groups. I have been performing for 15 years in venues such as the London Palladium and the Royal Albert Hall.
