Dara Hanley
Having gained a first class honours PGCE equivalent in Dublin, I began my teaching career eight years ago in London. In this time, I have worked in a variety of schools ranging from inner-city comprehensives such as Globe Academy to Independent and Grammar schools such as Tiffin Girls' School. However, in all schools, I have a consistent record of facilitating students to achieve outstanding examination results. In February 2012, I was rated 'outstanding' by the Lead Inspector of Ofsted at The Harrodian School.
Additionally, I have been in charge of Literacy across the Curriculum along with having been Head of Year whilst at Globe Academy.
I have extensive experience teaching English at 11+; Common Entrance; English Language and Literature across a range of syllabi including AQA Syllabi A & B and OCR at GCSE level and OCR for both GCSE and A level.
I offer one-to-one tutoring or small group tutoring. A needs analysis of your child is initially conducted in order to ascertain the areas in which they require support Subsequently, a bespoke tutoring programme is devised to cater for your child's individual educational needs.
Rigorous in my pedagogical approach, your child will be supported, challenged and encouraged to achieve their potential by consolidating their prior knowledge while extending and challenging them with new skills so that they achieve highly in examinations in English at every level. A variety of teaching methods, activities and resources are deployed to cater for specific learning styles.
Teaching, for me, is about sharing my passion for English and hopefully, fostering a passion for the subject within my students.
