Meditation Groups in Whittle-le-Woods
Meditation invites us to turn our attention inward so that we can find the peaceful stillness within us which is the truth of who we really are.
All too often we keep things to ourselves. This group provides a safe space within which you are invited to express yourself freely without worrying about what others think.
How we do this will depend on what you feel comfortable with. We will draw upon various meditation & rumination techniques, including Satsang (truth discussion), Atma Vichara (self enquiry), Pranayama (breathing practices), Visualisation, & possibly Mantra, is everyone is comfortable with that.
This meditation course is suitable for everyone including complete beginners & regular meditators. To get the most out of this course, it is more important to have a desire for self enquiry & a curiosity about your inner world, than previous experience.

IYN Yoga Foundation Course
DEEP YOGA FOUNDATIONS
Discover the Depths of Yoga
IYN FOUNDATION COURSE: 6 Sundays, 6 Friday evenings & a final weekend in Coniston.
At the heart of yoga lies the process of Atma Vichara; a deep, honest & open self enquiry. In this philosophical & experiential course, we will develop a deep & fruitful self practice, that is not restricted to asana. Exploring pranayama, relaxation, mantra, depth psychology & meditation; we will peel back the layers of limiting beliefs that keep us from being able to truly accept & appreciate who we are.
Deep Foundations is a 60 hour yoga self enquiry course providing a supportive framework within which you can establish and deepen your personal practice and experience of yoga. You will gain a comprehensive grounding in basic practical techniques taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins yoga; the sutras of Patanjali.
Deep Foundations allows you to access the depths of yoga which cannot be gleamed from books, videos, classes or workshops. Studying yoga philosophy, history & theory allows you to move beyond yoga gymnastics to integrate the philosophy of the sutras into your practice contextualising yourself within this ancient tradition to give a truly embodied somatic experience.
A lifelong yoga student, Debbie has been teaching yoga & facilitating transformative experiences since 1999. This is Debbie’s 10th Deep Foundations course. It is suitable for anyone wanting to go deeper into their practice & themselves to find their natural yoga being state.
Deep Foundations is an ideal preparation for those who may wish to train as yoga teachers in the future but equally suitable for committed yoga practitioners with no ambition to teach.
Progression to Yoga Teacher Training: Debbie starts a new yoga teacher training course each September, so there is never long to wait until you can start your teacher training if that's what you decide you want to do on completion of the Foundation Course.

Often we find ourselves in competition with others as the culture around us seems geared to drive us to do more and more, faster and faster. Sometimes this ethos unintentionally spills over into our yoga posture practice.
Hardly surprising since asana is often presented to us as control of the body, pranayama as control of the breath & meditation as control of the mind.
Nevertheless in his very first sutra, Patanjali hinted that Yoga is "happening now”, and not just another goal to strive for & achieve in the future. Asana is an awareness state of stable comfort that releases the body from tension; pranayama is the means of releasing the breath from its habituated tendencies to liberate the mind into it’s natural meditative quality.
Godfrey Devereux's Dynamic Yoga is an unique, revealing and liberating sensitisation method that honours the inherent intelligence and integrity of body, breath and mind. By honouring and releasing, rather than controlling or imposing, our deepest nature reveals itself; allowing us to ease into an intimate, nourishing and deeply rewarding relationship with the self and life.

Intuitive Massage
Intuitive Massage with Mac McEvoy
The human body-mind is so complex we can only approach it with a sense of reverence and awe. To touch is to wonder, to do nothing but play, like children, in a timeless dance.
Intuitive massage does not aim to be therapeutic. We are not trying to fix anything. We are not trying to change anything. Even so, change happens, continually. As we watch and play with sensitive hands and open hearts healing can happen in various ways.

ABOUT THE COURSE:
SENSIBLE YOGA FOR SENSITIVE INDIVIDUALS
Sensible (adj) “capable of sensation or feeling;" also "capable of being sensed or felt, perceptible to the senses," hence "easily understood; logical, reasonable,” (etymologyonline.com)
Feel Now Yoga offers you an in-depth alternative to the basic 200 hour Yoga Teacher Trainings. Instead of a yoga posture course with separate add on philosophy & anatomy modules, we weave the theory into our yoga practice to deliver a truly integrated course, that is deep without being academic; practical without just being exercise; & thorough without being too long.
Feel Now Yoga's Diploma Course invites each individual to listen to their own body & trust its inherent wisdom as they refine their personal practice & develop their own practice & teaching style. To honour this, we provide you with the opportunity to deepen your own experience & understanding of how Yoga works, so that you can help others access its full potential. Our aims is that by the end of your 340 hour, 16 month training you will be able to teach yoga from a confident place of embodied understanding.
ABOUT THE COURSE TUTORS:
Course Director, Debbie Farrar, is a lifelong yogi with almost 40 years of dedicated personal yoga practice & research, 17 years yoga teaching & 8 years teaching science. So our course walks the line between science & art to bring you a balanced & sensible Yoga Teacher Training experience.
Feel Now Yoga's core syllabus is enriched by weekend workshops with Special Guest Teachers, Godfrey Devereux & Peter Blackaby. Peter will present integrated, scientific theories of human movement & Godfrey will guide us through a deep somatic experience of his Dynamic Yoga Training Method with a focus on the art of teaching.
