T'ai Chi in the kwoon (Training Hall)
T'ai Chi in the Kwoon, @ the Longmeadow Centre, Cricketers Way, Andover is every Thursday evening @ 7pm. It's a group for both adults & children (U14's MUST be accompanied by an appropriate adult) who are interested in learning better coping strategies for dealing with day-to-day life, stress, anxiety & depression, to name a few.
T'ai Chi is a form of martial art, done SLOWLY, with intent & awareness. It can be used as a form of self defense, but primarily it is practised to encourage relaxation, calm & a meditative state of mind.
Qigong (Chi Gung) is a huge selection of gentle exercises similar to T'ai Chi, which promote awareness of body for co-ordination & balance, amongst other things, & encourages deeper breathing to encourage a good balance of Oxygen & Carbon Dioxide for a healthier body & it's systems, the brain but more importantly, YOU.
Each week we practice these as well as T'ai Chi Walking, deeper focussed breathing & full body warm-up exercises.
All are welcome, just come along or contact us to discuss more.
