My current yoga practice is influenced by the techniques of Vinyasa where the flow of movement, breath and thought unite to bring about clarity and stability to thoughts, actions and asanas. My classes encourage students to make personal choices in their yoga practice and develop skills to help them listen to their bodies. On-going study has encouraged me to challenge students to understand the postures and the energetic intent of the asanas. Leading students to discover body awareness, establish a relationship with their breath, and develop a compassionate and adventurous attitude towards themselves, remain my inspiration and goal as a yoga teacher.

I offer:
- Group classes (beginners, intermediate and advanced students)
- One-to-one lessons
- Corporate sessions
- Yoga for teens (school visits)
- Yoga for pregnancy

Experience

Training and inspiration

I was drawn to explore the healing and restorative benefits of yoga after many years as a long-distance runner. I have been practising yoga now for over ten years, and have been lucky enough to study and attend workshops with respected teachers of Ashtanga and Vinyasa yoga such as David Swenson and Matthew Sweeney. I also draw inspiration from the dynamic and transformational work of Edward Clark and Ana Forrest.

I completed my teacher training with Brian Cooper (Union Yoga) one of the leading Ashtanga teacher trainers in the UK. I have also completed training for teaching Yoga for Pregnancy (with Sitaram, London), as well as Yoga for Teens (with Jo Manuel of Special Yoga Centre, London).

My experience extends to working as a mentor and trainer with young people and I am particularly interested in the transformative effects of yoga on young and old alike.
