BucketBeats
Bucket Beats is an exciting drumming experience for Primary schools.
Why Buckets?…Everyone can play a bucket! Regardless of prior musical experience, co-ordination and confidence, everyone meets their first bucket in the same way – they just want to play!
Sticky problems…the workshops include playing with hands (like conga’s) and introduces correct drumstick technique: How to hold and control.
Allowed to be loud…This is a whole class of children striking upturned rubberised buckets with drumsticks…it is going to be loud. However the sessions are disciplined. Personal control, ensemble skills, texture, layering and turn taking are all prominent aspects of the workshops.
Have Bucket will travel…The buckets, sticks and all associated resources are provided by Bucket Beats. All that is asked of the venue is a large space in which to work and some enthusiastic participants! No equipment will be stored at the venue between sessions.

Shared music lessons outside school
Sometimes learning an instrument on your own can be a bit daunting (and expensive). Especially if you have recently had group lessons at school.
Why not share a lesson with a friend?
Having worked as a peripatetic teacher in primary schools and taught individual lessons, for over 10 years I am aware of the pro's and con's of both scenario's. Having lessons in pairs can be the perfect combination of solo and ensemble playing - it is also fun!
